And the prodigious pianist from Havana was not short of questions for the nearly 1500 spectators at the second evening of Jazz à l’Hospitalet. Is it the spirit of Caribbean tradition, the breath of modern virtuosity or the inspiring legacy of his mother Mercedes, a legendary bolero dancer and singer? Roberto Fonseca is undoubtedly a bit of all this, with that little extra, elusive or indefinable touch.
