Jazz Plaza Fest Back in 2024
The cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba will host the 39th Jazz Plaza International Festival in January next year, the event’s organizing committee announced on Friday.
In a press conference in Havana, Victor Rodriguez who heads the organizing committee said that high on the festival agenda is the work “Jazz Plaza” by musician and showman Bobby Carcases, creator of the festival.
Carcases announced guests from the United States, Canada and The Netherlands like Nachito Herrera, Ted Nash, Janio Abreu, and the Mal Paso Company among other outstanding jazz performers.
Festival artistic director and musician Roberto Fonseca said that a special moment at the festival will include the fusion of jazz with classic ballet, which will be a dream come true for his artistic work and a tribute to the Cuban National Ballet Company on its 75 anniversary.
